So recently I finished formatting Daevas I. There were so many things I had to choose and decide on. It was a bit overwhelming. However, it was fun! I’ll definitely continue to use a professional to format it for me.
One of the major formatting decisions I had to make was on whitespace. I decided to take the non-traditional route and go with what is most comfortable for readers, in my opinion. Having additional whitespace helps me keep focus and not skim. I often lose track of where I’m at, so I like having some whitespace to keep things a bit more spacious and breathable. So, in the end, I decided this approach was best and threw away the idea of emulating trad formatting standards to the T.
I ordered my first author proofs of both the hardcover and paperback. I fell in love! It turned out so well. I cannot wait to share this book with you all! I did end up catching a lil error in the Table of Contents, and I still need to fill in the placeholder LCCN with the real number. I corrected the ToC, but still need to update the LCCN. After that, I’ll be doing a final read through. I read it so many times I’m a bit exhausted from doing that, not gonna lie, haha.
