So with Daevas being edited and all that good stuff, you may be wondering what I’m gonna be doing next. Well, more writing, of course! Great Spirits will be finished by the end of this year. I’ve been working on that book, off and on, for what feels like forever. I love Wren and Silas, along with the many other characters, to bits! But after?
I have two possible stories I want to get started on: Fragments of What Remains and Made of Sugar, Spice, and Devilish Delights. They differ in themes considerably, but both stories I would love to start writing. Here are their working blurbs:
Fragments of What Remains
Three centuries after a meteor shattered the Earth, humanity is fractured. The âpowered,â gifted with extraordinary abilities, are blamed for the virus that followedâone that killed millions and warped the natural world. Now, monstrous mutations roam the wilds, and the powered are forced onto the front lines to destroy them.
Ezra, a devoted doctor, refuses to choose sides. He treats anyone who needs help, clinging to the belief that every life has value. But when he returns home after a brutal shift to find a stranger bleeding out on his floor, that belief is tested in ways he never imagined.
Saving the man is instinct. What follows is not.
Drawn into a hidden war of secrets, survival, and shifting allegiances, Ezra begins to uncover a truth buried beneath generations of fear and violence. And as tensions between originals and powered reach a breaking point, Ezra faces a choice that could alter the course of humanityâ one where the line between saving and destroying becomes increasingly blurred.
Made of Sugar, Spice, and Devilish Delights
Yuri’s life has been anything but sweet. After losing his parents at sixteen, he had to grow up fast, taking on the responsibility of raising his younger sister. Now, at twenty-seven, he’s determined to leave behind his troubled past and follow in his great uncle’s footsteps by becoming a priest. But his peaceful new life is thrown into chaos when his sister abandons her three-year-old daughter, leaving Yuri as the reluctant guardian.
Just when he thinks things can’t get more complicated, a charming, sarcastic demon shows upâand opens a church right next door. The demon, surprisingly knowledgeable about childcare, quickly becomes both Yuri’s biggest rival and his unexpected ally. As their churches compete for popularity, Yuri finds himself turning to the demon for help with his niece, leading to an unlikely friendship.
But as Yuri and the demon grow closer, the lines between rivalry and romance begin to blur. Yuri must navigate his growing feelings while juggling the challenges of parenthood, priesthood, and outwitting a demon who might be more interested in Yuri’s heart than his soul.
In a world where redemption and temptation are just a doorstep away, Yuri will discover that the path to salvation is paved with sugar, spice, and everything niceâeven if it comes with a little demonic flair.
Let me know what you think! If you have any questions, I’d love to answer them as well.
